The Tomorrow's Leaders Initiative carries that truth into its most vital expression — a direct investment in the young people who will shape the future of New York State.
As a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) charitable organization, the Association is uniquely positioned to reach beyond the Legislature and into the classrooms, campuses, and communities where tomorrow's leaders are already emerging. The Tomorrow's Leaders Initiative is our comprehensive platform for engaging young New Yorkers with the systems, resources, and relationships that drive educational achievement, economic mobility, and lifelong success. This initiative operates across two interconnected pillars:
SCHOLARSHIPS
Higher education is one of the most powerful engines of wealth-building and economic advancement — but only when it is accessible. The Association is deeply committed to removing financial barriers that stand between talented students and their futures.
The Association awarded more than $160,000 in scholarships to students attending colleges across New York State by the close of its 2025 fiscal year. Recipients are selected based on a combination of academic merit, financial need, and demonstrated commitment to their communities — reflecting the Association's belief that leadership is forged not only in the classroom but in service to others.
CAREER CONNECTIONS
Talent is everywhere. Opportunity is not.
The Career Connections pillar of the Tomorrow's Leaders Initiative exists to close that gap — connecting young people with professionals, mentors, and pathways in their chosen fields.
Students accepted into the program are matched with career opportunities and professionals who can offer guidance, mentorship, and access. Whether through internship placements, informational interviews, or direct employment connections, Career Connections opens doors that too many young people in our communities never knew existed — and ensures they walk through them prepared, supported, and seen.
By building early professional networks and exposing students to real-world career pathways, we are not just helping young people find jobs,e are helping them build lives of purpose, stability, and impact.
The Tomorrow's Leaders Initiative is how the Association honors its founding promise: that the movement for equity, representation, and opportunity does not end at the Capitol steps — it reaches into every community, every classroom, and every young life with the potential to lead.
